Haskovo region, with its favorable soil and climate conditions for the development of crop production, extensive agricultural areas (60% of the total territory of the region), high utilization of the agricultural area from the total area with agricultural purpose (97.1% in 2021), rich biological diversity and natural resources, has great potential for the development of organic production. With the implementation of adequate policies in the sector and the attraction of the necessary investments in organic production in the region, Haskovo Region has a real opportunity to establish its regional specialization as an organic region on the economic map of the country.
In this regard, EU2BIO project investigates what are the specific recommendations for promoting investments in organic production in Haskovo region, with a focus on developing sustainable and innovative models of agriculture and animal husbandry and on creating a favorable environment for business and innovation. Based on current data and research, the development presents a framework for promoting investments in Bulgaria in terms of agriculture and organic production and identifies the advantages and opportunities it can offer to investors and entrepreneurs in the region.
